Laura's project with Justice Action Center in Los Angeles combines litigation and other advocacy strategies to challenge the federal agency practice of sharing and using unaccompanied immigrant children's mental health and trauma-related information in ways that exacerbate their trauma and undermine their ability to secure immigration relief.

Laura Flores '22 was awarded a 2022 Skadden Fellowship for public service work.

In 2021, she won first prize in the California Supreme Court Historical Society's Selma Moidel Smith Student Writing Competition. Kayley also was awarded second place in the Criminal Record Policy Essay Competition and was named second prize winner in the American Kennel Club's 2020-2021 Companion Animal Law Writing Contest.

Miranda, Emergency Medical Care, & Criminal Defendants."
